The Prestigious Institute for Information Management Professionals - IIM-Africa has published her 2015 annual report.
In the report, the President and Chairman, Governing Council of the Institute, Dr. Oyedokun said the institute has embarked on a number of Intervention Programs aimed at bridging the Information gaps in different sectors under the ‘Data Access Intervention Initiative (DAII)’. The Data access Intervention Initiative (DAII) is a program developed by the institute and aimed at promoting access to information for effective service delivery in the society and expected to facilitate an industry movement to connect citizens to various services like health care, education and real estate.
He also said that in 2015, the Institute was able to train top professionals across top industries in Nigeria such as oil and gas industry, telecommunication, construction to mention few. These professional training programs has helped attendees to enhance their productivity, efficiency and also reduce organization cost and risk. Training organized during the year includes but not limited to Document Control, Improving Information and Records Management Using Existing tools, Records and Information Management (Primer and Advance).
Also, According to the IIM boss, a health sector project called “MedicPurse” was introduced. The Project was designed to empower patients with their own health data and improve the quality of patient-clinician interactions to enhanced quality of life, better treatment outcomes and potential reduction in costs and this project assisted the sector bridge the information gap and promoted better service delivery in the sector.
