The Institute has successfully conducted her 4th Induction of members into the Institute Among the Inductees were the Hon Minister of Information & Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, The Oni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogwusi and so many others. The high point of the event was the induction of the new fellows of the institute and Presentation/Inauguration of new Governing Council of the Institute.

Speaking at the event, the President of the Institute and Chairman Governing Council, Amb. (Dr) Oyedokun Oyewole expressed displeasure on the way the 2016 budget was handled exposing irregular figures. Stressing on the theme for the event - Leveraging on Proper Information as basis for promoting transparency, accountability and good governance, the President said that there's need for proper information management to be taken serious and brought to the front border to save Nigeria from the embarrassments experienced so far across sectors.

Also speaking at the event, the Registrar of the Institute, commented the step taken by the Federal Government by giving directives to ministries, and agencies to start the first stage of digitizing their records for safer keeping from hazards but stressed that it does not end there, rather more laws need to be made to back it up.
